That was dHealth 2022!

The dHealth is THE digital Health Event in Austria

The annual event took place for the sixteenth time on May 24-25, 2022 in the ‘Apothekertrakt’ of Schönbrunn Palace. Minister of Health Johannes Rauch and the organizing partners welcomed the more than 300 guests, who presented the latest developments in the digital health sector by more than 80 speakers during these two days. In addition to the three keynotes with topics on Artificial Intelligence in Diagnostics, Focusing on the Patient and Improving Global Interoperability in Healthcare, also the pre-selection of the EIT Health CATAPULT Startup Competition was an absolute highlight. Eleven startups from Austria, Germany and Switzerland competed to prove themselves at the European final.

The dHealth was opened by Minister of Health Johannes Rauch, Conference Chair Günter Schreier, President of the Austrian Society for Biomedical Engineering (ÖGBMT) and Senior Scientist in the digital Health Group of AIT, by Ruth Ladenstein, Chief Medical Officer of the conference and Deputy Director at the Children’s Cancer Research Institute (CCRI), and the event partners: Elke Guenther, Head of Center of Health and Bioresources of AIT Austrian Institute of Technology, Bernhard Tilg, Vice Director of the Tyrolean private university UMIT TIROL.

This was immediately followed by the first of three keynotes with Professor Kurt Zatloukal from the Medical University of Graz on the topic: “AI-based diagnostics: opportunities and challenges”.

During the two days, one highlight followed the other, in addition to numerous well-attended sessions on a wide variety of digital health topics. At the top-class round table on the topic of “Digital Patient Journey – from wearables to teleheatlh?”, Siegfried Meryn, health expert and chairman of the ORF Health Advisory Board, spoke with his guests Michael Binder (Wiener Gesundheitsverbund), Sigrid Pilz (Wiener Pflege-, Patientinnen- und Patientenanwaltschaft) and Albert Frömel (Zühlke GmbH). Special attention was also given to the other keynotes, Thomas Schabetsberger from Siemens Healthineers, who presented “It’s about the patient, stupid” and Sylvia Thun, Berlin Institute of Health at Charité, who closed the dHealth with her Closing Keynote “Improving global interoperability in healthcare in Crisis Management”.
